Lagu ini adalah sebuah lagu oleh penyanyi asal Jamaika Bob Marley. Ini adalah lagu terakhir di album kedua belas Bob Marley and the Wailers, Uprising, diproduksi oleh Chris Blackwell dan dirilis oleh Island Records.

Lagu ini dianggap sebagai salah satu karya terbesar Marley. Beberapa lirik kunci berasal dari pidato yang diberikan oleh orator Pan-Afrika Marcus Garvey berjudul "The Work That Has Been Done".

Pada saat dia menulis lagu, sekitar tahun 1979, Bob Marley telah didiagnosis menderita kanker di jari kakinya yang merenggut nyawanya beberapa tahun kemudian.

Menurut Rita Marley, "dia diam-diam sudah sangat kesakitan dan berurusan dengan kematiannya sendiri, fitur yang jelas terlihat di album, terutama di lagu ini".
