Penulis dapat mengungkapkan berbagai hal, misalnya, kerinduan, kegelisahan melalui karya puisi yang ditulisnya.

Unsur-Unsur Puisi

Dalam sebuah puisi biasanya terdiri atas beberapa unsur, yakni unsur intrinsik dan unsur ekstrinsik.

Unsur intrinsik merupakan segala unsur yang membangun perwujudan puisi dengan segala makna yang dikandungnya.

Unsur ini terdiri atas dua jenis, yaitu unsur fisik dan batin. Unsur fisik puisi adalah diksi, imaji, kata konkret, majas, rima, ritme, dan tipografi.

Sedangkan, yang termasuk unsur batin puisi, yaitu tema, rasa, nada, suasana, dan amanat.

Sementara itu, unsur ekstrinsik merupakan unsur luar puisi yang ikut memengaruhi ‘jiwa’ puisi tersebut.

Unsur ekstrinsik sebuah puisi seperti biografi atau latar belakang pengarang, sosial atau kondisi masyarakat saat itu serta unsur nilai yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan, seni, ekonomi, politik, sosial, budaya, adat-istiadat, hukum, dan lainnya.
